In honour of Kurt, here’s Oh, Me by Nirvana.

Here’s an unusual one.

Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Concerto, first movement, played by the wonderful Valentina Lisitsa.

I literally can’t write about this concerto as it will be too long. It’s one of my favourite pieces in the world.

It’s played without the orchestra and you can admire the beautiful sounds of the piano and hear it in the places you usually wouldn’t with the orchestra.

It’s truly phenomenal. Bravo, Valentina :)

Some Devil - Dave Matthews

Reminds me of Jeff Buckley’s cover of Hallelujah - the raw voice with electric guitar.

Really beautiful :)

You had Jesus on your breath and I caught Him in mine.
Sweating out confessions, the undone and the divine.

Amazing elements of pure lust transformed into music by the wonderful Florence + The Machine :)

Stormy Monday - Cream

Cream is an extraordinary man. Eric Clapton’s voice is pure, raw, stripped-to-the-bone blues. Old blues that black workers used to sing - which was beautiful, let me tell you. He captures the blues style so well, it’s just amazing.

Not to mention the guitar solo that I literally cannot find the words to describe.

Thank you, dad, for getting me into Cream.

Glenn Miller – Moonlight Serenade (241 plays)

No, this certainly won’t be a blog of just modern music. Glenn Miller was amazingly talented. As a Youtube comment I saw said, it doesn’t take lyrics to write the best love song in the world.

This piece is the definition of romantic. Reminds me of a clear summer’s night with a full moon and millions of stars. :)

Something | The Beatles ♪

So different to their other songs. This song is amazingly calm and loving :)

Just a little ~song review~ type thing :)

Tonight, it’s Since I’ve Been Loving You by the greatest rock band in the world - the one and only Led Zeppelin.

Off their third self-titled album released in 1970, Since I’ve Been Loving You has to be the world’s rawest and sexiest song one could imagine. The bluesy guitar plays a major role. To say Jimmy Page’s guitar skills are like no other is quite simply an understatement. As every Led Zeppelin fan knows, Jimmy and lead singer Robert Plant communicate with each other constantly; he plays a question, he sings an answer or vice versa. Here, Jimmy cooperates with Robert with tiny guitar “solos” here and there as a buildup to the simply grandiose solo near the end.

Robert’s voice is also a factor, which makes this song so incredibly irresistible. Robert’s voice is untouched by any effects, frisky, raw, powerful and sexy. In this song, you can see that he doesn’t even care about whatever is going on around him. It is just him and the music. His singing is simply so unique and distinguishable that one wonders what goes on inside his head when he’s performing.

Accompanied by Bonzo’s slow, blues rhythm and John Paul’s bassline (without a legitimate bassline, a song could not possibly be sexy), Since I’ve Been Loving You is a song full of every emotion; anger, desperation, passion, and most importantly…frustration.

So, if you haven’t ever heard of this song by this band, I suggest do right this instant ;)
